Product Description
Product Overview:
Magnesium oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MgO, which is the oxide of magnesium and an ionic compound, appearing as a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in nature in the form of periclase and is a raw material for magnesium metallurgy. It has high fire-resistant insulation properties. When calcined at temperatures above 1000°C, it can transform into a crystal, and at temperatures of 1500 - 2000°C, it becomes dead-burned magnesium oxide (magnesia) or sintered magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide plays various important roles and advantages in optical coatings. Its excellent optical properties, material performance, and wide range of applications make the development prospects of magnesium oxide in the optical field even broader.

Product Features:
1. Magnesium oxide has a high refractive index, making it an ideal choice for preparing anti-reflective films, beam-splitting films, and other multilayer film systems. By controlling the content and thickness of magnesium oxide, the optical performance of the films can be adjusted to meet the needs of different application scenarios.
2. Magnesium oxide has an excellent laser damage threshold, capable of withstanding high-energy laser irradiation without damage. This gives magnesium oxide a significant advantage in the preparation of optical components for high-power lasers.
3. Magnesium oxide has excellent light transmission properties, especially in certain specific wavelength ranges. This allows it to be used as a material for optical films, such as anti-reflective films, beam-splitting films, and polarizing films, to enhance the light transmission of optical components, reduce glare, and improve image quality.
4. Magnesium oxide has outstanding thermal and chemical corrosion resistance, maintaining stable performance in harsh environments. This gives magnesium oxide a significant advantage in the preparation of optical components that need to be used in high-temperature or corrosive environments.
5. In the production of optoelectronic devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and laser diodes (LDs), magnesium oxide can enhance device performance and extend its lifespan. Especially in high-temperature or high-light environments, the addition of magnesium oxide can significantly improve the stability and reliability of the devices.
6. In the field of fiber optic communication, magnesium oxide, as a dopant for fiber materials, can significantly enhance the refractive index and durability of the fibers. By controlling the content of magnesium oxide, the optical and mechanical properties of the fibers can be flexibly adjusted to meet the needs of different application scenarios.
7. Modern photography and videography technologies have high requirements for lenses, requiring them to have high resolution and low optical distortion. Magnesium oxide can be used to produce components for high-performance lenses, such as large-diameter lenses or high-precision lens arrays, with its excellent light transmission and uniformity ensuring outstanding image quality.
8. Magnesium oxide can combine with other oxides to form ceramic materials with excellent optical properties. These optical ceramics can be used to manufacture high-temperature windows, lenses, and laser media, providing more possibilities for the development of the optical field.
