Costa-Rica Spherical chromium powder

Chromium powder is a silver-gray or black shiny metallic powder with a density of about 7.20 g/cm³, a melting point of 1857℃-1890℃, and a boiling point of 2480℃-2672℃. It is insoluble in water and nitric acid, but soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and strong alkaline solutions. It has stable chemical properties, but the powder can ignite when exposed to high temperatures or open flames. It is characterized by high hardness and high corrosion resistance.

Product Description

Product Overview:

Chromium powder is a silver-gray or black shiny metal powder with a density of about 7.20g/cm³, a melting point of 1857℃-1890℃, and a boiling point of 2480℃-2672℃. It is insoluble in water and nitric acid, but soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and strong alkaline solutions. It has stable chemical properties but can burn when exposed to high temperatures or open flames, featuring high hardness and high corrosion resistance.

Chromium powder has a wide range of applications. In the metallurgical field, it can be used to manufacture tough quality steel, stainless steel, and acid-resistant alloys. In the electroplating industry, it can be used for chrome plating on metal surfaces for protection and decoration. In the chemical industry, it can serve as a catalyst for chemical synthesis. In the coatings industry, it can be used to manufacture light-resistant and heat-resistant coatings. In the glass and ceramics industry, it can be used as a coloring agent. In the leather industry, chromium sulfate and chromates can be used as tanning agents, and in fabric dyeing, it can be used as a mordant, soaking agent, and for producing various pigments. Additionally, it can be used to make refractory materials, abrasives, and as additives for powder metallurgy, diamond tools, electrical alloys, welding materials, and aluminum alloys.

The chromium powder produced by our company using radio frequency plasma spheroidization has high sphericity, good fluidity, high purity, large bulk density, fully dense internal particles, and no hollow powder. It is widely used in fields such as hard alloys, diamond tools, welding materials, and palladium materials, suitable for processes like laser/electron beam additive manufacturing, hot isostatic pressing, laser cladding, vacuum coating, thermal spraying, and cold spraying.

Available conventional powder particle sizes: 5-25μm, 15-53μm, 45-106μm, 53-150μm.
