It is easily soluble in acids and inorganic salt solutions but insoluble in water, and it decomposes into calcium oxide when heated above 500°C. Nano calcium hydroxide reacts with acids to produce salts and water, for example, reacting with hydrochloric acid to produce calcium chloride and water, and with sulfuric acid to produce calcium sulfate and water. Nano calcium hydroxide can be used to prepare high-performance nano-composite materials, nano-coatings, high-performance ceramics, and biomedical materials.
