Niobium powder is a silver-gray metallic powder with a density of about 8.57g/mL, a melting point of 2468℃, and a boiling point of 4742℃. It is chemically stable at room temperature, insoluble in water, and difficult to dissolve in inorganic acids and bases, featuring good electrical conductivity, superconductivity, and corrosion resistance.
Niobium powder has a wide range of applications. In the metallurgy field, it can be used to produce high-temperature alloys and stainless steel, enhancing material strength, hardness, and hardenability. In the electronics industry, it can be used to manufacture capacitors and other components. In the superconducting field, niobium-tin alloys are commonly used superconducting materials. In the chemical industry, it can be used to make acid and alkali resistant equipment. In the nuclear industry, it can serve as structural material. In the aerospace field, it can be used to manufacture rocket engine nozzles.
